L'As du Fallafel stands as a lively, fast-paced spot in the heart of Paris’ Marais district, known primarily for its authentic Israeli and kosher fare centered around falafel and shawarma. It blends the convenience of fast food with the vibrant energy of a neighborhood eatery, attracting a steady flow of locals and visitors who arrive prepared to wait in line, especially during peak meal times.

The atmosphere inside reflects its popularity: a bustling, no-frills dining room filled with the hum of eager diners and the quick efficiency of attentive staff. Seating can be limited, so arriving early or opting for takeout at the window can be practical if you want to avoid longer waits. The interior is functional but purpose-driven, focusing on serving up fresh ingredients rather than creating an elaborate dining ambiance.

From the menu, the falafel plate stands out as a crowd favorite, generously portioned with classic accompaniments like houmous, tehina, fresh salads, and roasted eggplant. Shawarma sandwiches, packed with well-seasoned turkey and lamb, offer a hearty, flavorful alternative that regulars return for year after year. Several meat-based plates such as schnitzel and chicken curry round out the choices, catering to those seeking variety beyond the signature falafel. Prices are relatively accessible for central Paris, with a noted difference between dine-in and takeout rates.

Ideal for a casual, filling lunch or a quick dinner on the go, L'As du Fallafel suits anyone craving authentic Middle Eastern flavors without formalities. The waiting lines indicate its popularity but also signal the communal nature of the experience — sharing space with others who’ve come for the same robust food. Staff maintain an approachable demeanor despite the rush, keeping the service brisk and courteous.

Visitors should plan ahead, especially during weekends or colder weather, as the queue can stretch outside. The restaurant’s location on Rue des Rosiers places it in a vibrant, historically Jewish neighborhood, adding to the authenticity and local flavor. Whether grabbing food to enjoy at a nearby park or settling in for a quick meal inside, it’s a spot that delivers straightforward, satisfying dishes representing a genuine slice of Israeli street food within Paris.

This was our second time eating here and it was delicious as always! We had to wait 40 minutes in the line to eat inside. I would recommend to come here before you get hungry! There is a difference in price if you do takeout vs. sit down. The staff were very courteous, right from the people managing the queues to our server.

Fabulous find in Marais. Very authentic Israeli food. We ate a shwarma sandwich and falafal plate. Fresh and tasty. Atmosphere is ok but you are eating here because of the food!

We lucked out and got seated right away tonight. The cold didn't stop people from queueing up though. The food was delicious and fast! We sampled falafel, schnitzel and shawarma and all were delicious. Mint lemonade was also a hit.

Worth the hype! Got lucky enough to get a table at this busy spot. Their falafel plate was delicious and the portion was a great size (probably good for two people). Friendly server and very fast service. They have a large interior dining or you can order at the window for takeout. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the area!

L’As du Fallafel never disappoints! Their iconic shawarma sandwich is always fresh, flavorful, and packed with goodness. Every year I come to Paris, it’s a must-have—can’t leave without one! Amazing and very friendly service too! Worth the hype and the wait!

What a wonderful place, so happy we found it. The best falafel I’ve had since Moishe’s on 46th street, amazing chicken schnitzel, the pita was pillowy and warm, and the homemade mint lemonade tart and refreshing. Staff was charming and helpful (and happy to speak English) and atmosphere was exciting and eclectic. By the time we left every table was full and a line out the door was waiting - as well as a line for the take out window. Popular and busy spot, and worth the wait!

Some of the best shawarma I’ve ever had. From the fillings, the sauce and the pita. It was delicious. There was a line for take away but it was well worth the wait!
